Craft of Storytelling in VO Workshop

Instructor: John Morris
Join professional voice actor, coach, director John Morris online to explore and hone the craft of storytelling for VO scripts and roles. Learn best practices and warm-ups followed by a deep dive into various VO scripts and characters with clear direction and constructive feedback for all participants. This workshop will focus on storytelling across various aspects of VO including animation, narration, audio books, and more.

– Build a scene that you can play in
– Script & character analysis for character VO
John Morris has been a professional voice actor since the age of 7 and is known best for his role as “Andy” in the Toy Story franchise and “Santa Boy” in The Nightmare Before Christmas. He also voiced the roles of “Pepper Roni” in Lego Island, “Young Eugene” in Adventures in Odyssey, and has appeared in many commercials and other VO projects. John received acting/VO training from Judy Berlin’s Kids on Camera TV/Film Acting School, A.C.T.’s Young Conservatory, Berkeley Rep, Marin Theatre Company, Kalmenson & Kalmenson, the NYU Tisch CAP-21 Program, Perry Mansfield, and UCLA, where he earned his BA in Acting/Musical Theater. He also teaches online and in-person VO workshops and classes to groups of younger students, teens, and adults for Voice One, Voice TraxWest, Judy Berlin’s Kids on Camera TV/Film Acting School, and various other schools and organizations. Coming up, he has been cast in Extinguished Worlds and an additional audio drama produced by Adventurous Ideas among other TBA roles/projects.
