Marketing can often feel overwhelming and confusing. WhoHowWhen

This is why Mike and myself created the BUSINESS, BRANDING & MARKETING COURSE.

But one of the ways it can feel “doable” is by creating a plan.

First of all, check out this graphic we created for the Business, Branding & Marketing course showing the different places VO opportunities come from.

Do you need to market to ALL of these? If you don’t have the time right now, no. The more opportunities you have, the higher chance you have of booking, though. So the goal is to try and get as many opportunities as you can

Before we jump into the strategy & plan, keep these things in mind:

1| Be REALISTIC – do you have a full-time job? You may only be able to market to ONE potential client a month. Decide what’s realistic for you and your life.

2| Be SPECIFIC – don’t just make the strategy to reach out to non-agent rosters. Create a plan to reach out to recording studios in your city.

Strategy & Plan:

1| WHO do you want to reach out to? Decide if you want to directly market to certain companies, dig into online casting sites, get agent representation/additional representation or non-agent rosters. Research who the person is who hires/signs/casts voice talent. What is their job description?

2| HOW do you plan to contact them? Through email/LinkedIn? And how will you keep track of it?

3| WHEN is this doable? Can you realistically reach out to one person a day? Or is one person a week doable? Make yourself an appointment to do this on a consistent basis (whatever that consistency looks like for you).

Once you have your plan, email it to a voiceover friend. Ask them to keep you accountable to doing it!

Finally – don’t get discouraged if you don’t get traction right away. This is like tending a garden! Doesn’t happen overnight but if you plant the right seeds, eventually it will sprout
