Be warned - This may be a long read.Let me tell you something... if you're on the fence on where to go to advance... your voice over talents... This. Is. The. Place! I've looked at a few other places for training, and even attended some classes at other studios, but the moment I walked into AVO, I felt at home. The coaches here are top-notch and know what they're doing. I just recently finished the 3-month Beginner's Intensive by Mike and Heidi (they're amazing, btw...), and I feel so much more confident in my vocal abilities now, and I can hear a huge difference in my reads from before I took their class. They guided everyone during the entire 3-month course, and covered everything needed to navigate this crazy VO industry.... everything from home studio setups, to auditioning and demos. Do yourself a favor and invest in yourself at a studio that actually cares about how their students perform, their success, and their well-being. They've been sincerely concerned about everyone during this pandemic. Not only the Beginner's Intensive though... I've also taken James Younger's Adobe Audition class. And was able to learn industry standards for audio recording, how to properly treat my home studio, and how to correctly post-process my auditions. I just recently took Carrie Olsen's e-Learning workshop, which gave a great inside look at the processes she takes to seek out and book clients, and the marketing and processes she puts into place to make sure her VO business is well-oiled and highly efficient. I've had 1-on-1 training sessions with Brian Bremen and Dan Fishman. Brian was excellent in working with me and giving me the feedback that I needed to hear, and working on "beating the announcer out of my reads", and making sure I give the client's a product that they will be pleased with... all while being a ton of fun to work with. Dan Fishman has helped with planning out my new voice over booth, and was able to give me great ideas to get the best sound out of next project. Everyone has made themselves very available to any questions or concerns that I've had, and I cannot be more pleased with all my experiences with Atlanta Voiceover.I've enrolled in Steve Henderson's "Character of You", and have heard nothing but good things about his class. I'm really looking forward to working through his class to help bring out my natural reads and really dial in on bringing out my own character in those reads. AVO also stated time and time again that we do not have to do our demos with them.... but I have so much faith in this establishment and their abilities, that I will 100% be using them to record my demo.I cannot speak highly enough of all the coaches and people at AVO. You will be greeted and feel right at home the moment you walk through their doors. Mike and Heidi run an incredible establishment here. Do not do yourself a disservice by not entertaining Atlanta Voiceover Studio for all of your voice over training and services. I guarantee you will not be displeased by the excellent service and training you get here!read more

I took the 3-month Beginner's Intensive class at AVS with Jill Perry and it was incredible! I learned so much. Jill was... an amazing teacher who brought enthusiasm and energy to the classroom that was contagious. Her insight and knowledge was priceless - couldn't have been happier with the class.Plus, Mike & Heidi and the whole AVS crew were incredibly kind and helpful. They really have something special going on over there.If you are on the edge, TAKE THE CLASS! It is worth every penny.read more

Well first of all I am new to voiceover. I have no prior experience so getting started is a bit of a challenge. I have... done a ton of research online but still confused. Then I found Atlanta Voiceover studios. I have since signed up for a class and downloaded the “how to set up a home studio” guide. I was able watch all the videos with Gopal and within hours I was all setup in my closet with basic equipment. Now with all the downtime being stuck indoors I can practice. Thanks again AVS for making this type of info available. I recommend this to everyone!!read more

I cannot speak highly enough about my experiences with this place or its people! Heidi and Mike are phenomenally sweet... and their studio is very well appointed. I have been investing in classes/workshops for the last year, and honestly I feel it's the best money I could spend on myself for my career. The instructors are incredibly helpful and enormously experienced! It truly is one of my favourite places to be in Atlanta! Hope to see you guys again soon! Almost time for that demo!read more

The intro to VO class was a great experience for a beginner just scoping out the world of VO - would VERY HIGHLY... recommend! Mike and Heidi are running a fantastic spot for anyone who is interested/working in this career at any level. The knowledge and support they - together with Brian Bremer who ran the intro class i attended - is truly valuable, and imparted kindly and patiently within a warm and professional environment.read more

I just finished the beginner voice over intensive class and I can't say enough good things about Heidi, Mike and AVOS.... Not only do they give you loads of invaluable information, they do it in such a concise way that never leaves you feeling overwhelmed. They also GENUINELY care about your success and are the most loving, kind people probably in the whole South East. I highly recommend this studio.read more
