The other week I booked a VO job and the first thing they said to me was,

“Thank you for saying the name of our hotel correctly!” 

They said there were only a few that actually did. 
Now let me say, it was a doozy. Not a simple one to pronounce. The client had it phonetically written out in the audition breakdown but I wanted to double check, so I went to their website and found their YouTube channel to hear an example. Then I practiced it really slowly until it felt effortless. It took a little more time, yes, but that simple extra effort paid off. 
Just a reminder that something as simple as pronunciation can set your audition apart.
